Jodi Pickett, LMT – Owner, The Massage Way- Spearfish

Today on Black Hills Livin’ Local we meet Jodi Pickett, the owner of The Massage Way in Spearfish.

We learn how the business got it’s name and a where Jodi received her schooling. We also learn about Olympian Michael Phelps favored type of treatment, the less well-known “cupping” therapy and why it’s a different type of treatment.

Why does massage therapy feel so good? We get a better scientific understanding of why we love massage so much. And specifically how our muscles come to need massage therapy and exactly what massage does to solve the problem.

Areas covered in this episode include lymph draining massage, cupping therapy, deep tissue massage and reflexology. Jodi talks about how a personal experience brought her to learn massage therapy and bring her practice back to South Dakota.

And, I end up receiving my very first reflexology session.  Wow.
